Hola familia FashionTopic

Como les platiqué, estas siguientes semanas estaré haciendo una serie de posts compartiéndoles todos los destinos que visité en mi ultimo viaje familiar. Mi papá, hermana y yo nos fuimos de road trip y nuestro primer destino fue: San Miguel de Allende, -que si no haz visto ese post, te lo dejó aquí-
Después de un par de días de descanso en San Miguel, tomamos otra vez el volante para nuestro siguiente destino: Guanajuato.

Era la primera vez que visitaba esta ciudad y ¡ME ENAMORÉ! La vibra que tiene es MUY MUY MEXICANA y los locales son extremadamente amigables. Además de que sus atracciones son para todos…

HELLO FASHIONTOPIC FAMILY!

AS I TOLD YOU ON MY LATEST BLOG POST, IN THE UPCOMING WEEKS I’LL BE SHARING WITH YOU EVERY DESTINATION THAT I VISITED ON MY LAST FAMILY TRIP. MY DAD, SISTER AND I WENT ON A ROAD TRIP AROUND MEXICO. OUR FIRST STOP WAS THE BEAUTIFUL SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, -IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THIS POST, HERE’S THE LINK- AFTER A COUPLE RELAXING DAYS AT SAN MIGUEL, WE VISITED OUR NEXT DESTINATION: GUANAJUATO!

This was the first time I visited this city and I felt sooo in love of it. The vibe of this place is super mexican, the locals are extremely friendly and the attractions here are for everybody….

Estos fueron los highlights de mis días en esta ciudad:

Hospedaje

Busqué un lugar que fuera tranquilo y de precio accesible. Nos hospedamos en el Hotel Suites Mexico Guanajuato, el cual contaba con estacionamiento. La habitación era amplia con sala e incluso un patio pequeño, además de una mini-área de cocina. El hotel esta ubicado en una plaza que tiene súper y farmacia a un paso, muy conveniente si quieres comprar snacks, pero un poco alejado de las principales atracciones. Puedes encontrar otras opciones más céntricas, sin embargo muchas no cuentan con estacionamiento y la verdad es que andar en coche en Guanajuato es complicado ya que sus vías son un poco enredadas.

Yo no hubiera cambiado mi hospedaje en el Hotel Suites Mexico Guanajuato. La limpieza, el personal y en general los servicios fueron justo lo que buscábamos.

Precio: $1,300 MXN aprox la noche

So… here are my highlights of Guanajuato…

HOUSING

I looked for a quiet and affordable place. We stayed at the Hotel Suites Mexico Guanajuato, which had parking. The room was quite spacious with a small living room and even a little yard, besides a mini-kitchen area. The hotel is located on a little mall that has a supermarket and a pharmacy just a few steps away, however is kind of far from the principal attractions. You can find closer options, but not all of them have parking.

For me, the Hotel Suites Mexico Guanajuato, was the best option. Super clean, the staff was amazing and the services were just what we were looking for.

Price: $65dlls per night

COMIDA

Nada como la experiencia en La Trattoria de Guanajuato, justo enfrente del Jardín la Unión. El lugar es hermoso, la comida deliciosa y el servicio de lujo. ¡LO AMÉ!

FOOD

For me, La Trattoria de Guanajuato was the best experience, located exactly in front of the Jardín Unión. The place is beautiful, the food delicious and the staff is just amazing. LOVED IT!

Cultura y Atracciones

Guanajuato es una de las ciudades más artísticas que he conocido en México, así que verás gente dibujando en las calles y escuchando música con un toque mexicano por todas las calles del centro.

Mi atracción favorita fue la Callejoneada: donde músicos locales te llevan en una caminata a lo largo de la ciudad, haciendo paradas en puntos principales y platicando mediante canciones las historias que envuelven estos callejones. El tour se hace con mucha gente y sólo por la noche, así que llévate zapatos cómodos. ($100-120 MXN por persona aprox)

Visitamos el famoso Museo de las Momias de Guanajuato ($85 MXN por persona) y la entrada te incluye el recorrido con guía. Me pareció muy interesante conocer la historia de las momias más famosas del lugar, sin embargo y debido al formato del recorrido y la cantidad de gente que lo visita, no tienes tiempo extra para dar tu propio tour. Lo que si debes tomar en cuenta es que la fila para entrar es enormeeeee. Llega ¡MUY MUY temprano!, mi familia y yo incluso haciendo eso, esperamos unos 40 mins. Pero vale mucho la espera.

Visitamos también el Funicular Panorámico ($36 MXN por persona) el cual te lleva a a uno de los mayores atractivos de la ciudad: el monumento a El Pípila donde tendrás unas vistas de la ciudad ¡INCREÍBLES!

Al salir de ahí puedes caminar hacia el Teatro Juárez ($35 MXN por persona) el cual tiene recorridos por guías del lugar. Ideal si quieres saber más sobre la arquitectura y estilo del vida que sucedió en este teatro. ¡La última hora de entrada para el recorrido es a las 5pm, así que organiza tu agenda por que este es un MUST-SEE! Saliendo de ahí, el Jardín de la Unión es el lugar perfecto para darte un break, esta justo enfrente y es prácticamente el punto de reunión en la ciudad.

Otro imperdible es el famoso Callejón del Beso, el cual SIEMPRE está lleno de gente, sin embargo noté que durante la mañana es menos concurrido.

Por la noche me encantó visitar la Universidad de Guanajuato, una foto en las escaleras que tiene ¡ES IMPERDIBLE!

Culture and ATTRACTIONS

Guanajuato is one of the most artistic cities I’ve ever visited, so if you walk downtown, you’ll see people painting on the streets and listening or singing authentic Mexican music.

My favorite attraction was La Callejoneada: where local musicians take you around the city, making stops on the principal attractions where they told us stories and legends of each place. The tour is at night, walking and usually crowded, so bring your most comfortable shoes. ($5 - 6 dlls)

We also visited the Museo de las Momias de Guanajuato ($4 - 5 dlls ) the ticket includes a guide tour. I found the story and the place super interesting, however due the format and the number of people that visit the museum there’s no time for you to take your own tour. Keep in mind that the line is long, so try to be there pretty early. Even arriving early, my family and I had to wait 40 minutes to get in, but it was totally worth it to see all the mommies and known their story.

We visited the el Funicular Panorámico ($2 dlls) which takes you to one of the most attractive spots of this city The Pípila Monument where you’ll have one of the most amazing views of this city.

After this you can walk towards The Juárez Theater ($2 dlls) which also has guided tours, ideal if you want to learn more about the architecture and lifestyle of this place. The last guided tour is at 5pm so… organize your agenda because this definitely is MUST - SEE! After this, the Jardín de la Unión is the perfect place for a break, it’s justa across the theater and it’s the meeting point of this amazing city.

Another must-see is the Callejón del Beso, this one is always crowded, however, I noticed that in the mornings is much more empty for you to enjoy it!

At night, my favorite spot was the University of Guanajuato, a photo on this stairs is a MUST.

Caminar por las calles de Guanajuato es de verdad una experiencia excéntrica por llamarlo de alguna manera. Hay color por todas partes, mucha creatividad local expuesta en pinturas y gente con instrumentos musicales tocando sin pena. ¡La calidez de los habitantes es incomparable! Se convirtió en una de mis ciudades favoritas de todo México ♥

Walking around Guanajuato is a unique experience, there are colors everywhere, tons of local creativity, people painting, dancing and playing music with no shame. The warmness of the locals is unique! It definitely become one of my favorite cities on Mexico.
