FashionTopic was launched in January 2015 by Karen Macías López. With a Mexican perspective and based in New York City, her website and social media has a global reach of +10,000 followers, becoming a worldwide lifestyle blog. Nominated for Best International Blog in 2016 for Privalia Fashion Blog Awards, FashionTopic has become a bridge between Mexico and NYC, attending events like New York Fashion Week as a special guest and having the opportunity to meet international designers and fashion personalities such as: Jean Paul Gaultier, André Leon Talley, Coco Rocha, Joseph Altuzarra and Iris Apfel, inter alia.

FashionTopic has been featured in newspapers and editorials such as: Couture Feast, Síntesis, El Heraldo, Fashion News, Única Magazine and Buena Vida, in radio with programs like: Trend Lovers, Cinco Mujeres and in TV at the show: “Vive Mejor”. Karen has also been invited as a speaker for universities such as: UDLAP, Ibero, UMAD, Wilbing, UMAG, Unarte and Trozmer to share her path in the blogging and fashion world.

She has participated as jury for recognized Mexican fashion competitions such as: Moda Premio and Mezclarte, sharing her knowledge and feedback to the future generations.

Having graduated in Textile Design at IBERO, Mexico and achieving her Masters in Fashion Business and Brand Management at FIT, NYC; Karen is currently working in the costume department for multiple tv and film productions, as well as a wardrobe stylist for advertisement and fashion editorials.
